Synopsis
Winner of eight Tonys (including Best Musical) with an unforgettable score by Kander and Ebb, Cabaret sits on the seedy cusp of the Nazi’s rise to power in 1931 Berlin. Decadent chorus girl Sally Bowles is determined to live a life of carefree ignorance. An American writer dreams that he can save Sally and change the course of events, but he is powerless in the face of Nazi brutality.
Cabaret is a devastating critique of apathy, and a clever and terrifying look at totalitarianism.
Parental guidance highly suggested for ages 17 and younger due to strong adult themes and sexuality. The setting and characters are edgy, and the show will be performed with the writer’s original purpose.
