Costumes at Stageworks Theatre can be the most fun part - assuming they fit properly! For most of our classes for kids under 14, we ask you to help us get basic sizes and measurements on your kids. This saves time at the theatre.
Here are some tips to ensure you are providing the most accurate measurements for our teachers. Definitions and tips include:
Height: Measure from the top of head to the floor
Chest: Measure around your chest under your arms at the broadest part.
Waist: Measure around the smallest part of the waist. For males, this does NOT always equal what pant size they purchase, as often modern pants are worn lower. Ensure you are measuring the smallest part.
Hips: Measure around your hips at the widest point of your bum.
Shoulder to shoulder width: Measure from the point at the top edge of each shoulder to the other side point, over the natural curve of your back.
Sleeve length: Measure from the point at the top edge of your shoulder, to your wrist bone when the arm is bent slightly (like Dear Evan Hansen!)
If you have any questions, reach out to your director - we are happy to help!
